Unquestionably built “Ford Tough,” the Ford F-150 Raptor SVT earned its honors in the desert infernos of the Baja peninsula with the Raptor R. The first test for the Raptor R off-road truck was the long distance endurance event at the 2008 Baja 1000 race, where it finished 3rd in the Class 8 section. The Raptor R retains the stock parts of the factory Ford Raptor which includes the axles, transmission, brakes and 2009, fully boxed, F-150 frame.
Made to race off-road this super 4×4 was specially fitted with a 6.2 liter V-8 engine that powers 500 horse power. The Ford Race Team knew that the Baja 1000 was the perfect place to test the durability and performance of the production line Raptor SVT. The Raptor R truly tested and developed a line of proven off-road performance parts that will be available from the Ford Racing Team.
